First day of the semester, done…! So many classes. So much walking. So much HOT (106F/41C). Misunderstanding happened and I ended up walking … and walking… and walking… Needless to say, I got a sunburn and managed to dehydrate myself. Huge cheer for being burnable by a bright light bulb and yay for misunderstandings!
And now that summer vacation is over—well, it was basically over last month given all the stuff I’ve had to get through—I’ll be reverting my ‘base’ 3 chapters/week back to 2 chapters/week. I know it’ll leave a sour taste for you all (myself included) due to my massive, massive lack of releases lately… but yeah. I’m still figuring out if/how I’ll even be able to keep up with the 7 total releases per week. It’ll be easier if I use heavy coursework weeks on easier to translate series like LDM and MG, but I’ve already found myself doing that over the past few weeks. Hmm.
In other news, we’re about to hit the end of v2 of ICO and the actual end of DB. 2 releases for ICO, 6 for DB. I’m going to be putting GCR on an official 3 week hiatus. It’s already been quite a while since I’ve last put out a release for the series, but it will need to wait that much longer. If I can manage to finish DB before those three weeks are up, it’ll come out at that point.
… At least LDM’s release rate hasn’t suffered from my inadequacies, right? Right? ><

I very much dislike the turn this ending’s taken. I only translate this to finish the series at this point.
Saddening. It’s the second series I ever picked up to translate and I feel it’s only gotten worse since the start of the ‘second act’, so to speak.
But also, please take a look at something the author has said:
ちなみに私自身も母方に中国系の親戚がおりますので、主人公たちとは違う意見を持っています。
By the way, I have Chinese relatives on my mother’s side, so I do have a different opinion than what the main characters have.
So if you are like me and are frustrated at the MCs’ beliefs, please don’t aim that frustration at the author. It was his choice to make his story’s characters act like that, true, but in the end, they are not his views on the subject. Yeah.

Yeah, loving it so hard right now. It’s the first time I’ve enjoyed a series with this many time skips, honestly. The MC has the general Japanese MC timid personality, but he truly does make attempts to rationalize them and decide if his views are right or wrong before acting on them. Mmm, so good.
